Few weeks ago I had a pleasure to spent few hours photographing Mairi and Simon and I have to honestly say, it was one of my best and enjoyable sessions of 2012. It’s really much easier to photograph people who want to be photographed and really care what their photos will look like. We only had about 2hrs for their session, as it was getting dark and they had to catch the train back to London. Thankfully with a lot of luck with avoiding the parking wardens and we managed to do everything we have planed an a bit more. We’re looking for a mixture of gritty, urban and industrial styles and Glasgow, with it’s red brick buildings, empty factories and industrial estates is a perfect location for that. I also wanted to use Glasgow Commonwealth Games graffiti – the idea I had for some time, as I just love the colors of that unique “artwork”. We ended up in Ashton Lane – a must go destination in Glasgow for young professionals and we’re lucky to find the Sunday Market there to finish the session with warm, a little bit christmassy, feeling you’re looking for at this time of the year. As a wedding photographer based in Glasgow, you just couldn’t ask for more.
Mairi and Simon are getting married in May at The Lodge on Loch Lomond and I’m so happy they’ve picked me for their wedding photographer. They’re such a lovely couple and a pleasure to work with and Loch Lomond is such a beautiful place at this time of the year.
