When you think about Mauritius the first thing that comes to mind are endless white beaches, turquoise ocean and amazing weather all year long. To be fair these are the reason most people go there and I was one of them a couple of years ago, when I visited Mauritius for the first time. It’s a little surprise then, that if you google Mauritius photographer nearly every image looks the same – a couple walking down the beach with blue water that looks like it’s overdone in Photoshop ( in fact that’s how it looks ). There’s nothing wrong with that, that’s what beach wedding are all about and I’m happy to say I will be photographing a few of them in Mauritius this year, and that was the reason I was there in the first place. When I met Paula and Daniel in the hotel I was staying, waiting for the wedding I was about to photograph, the first impression was..wow, what a great and easygoing couple. Little did I know that a few days later we will be meeting at the hotel reception at 5.30 in the morning for a short sunrise session. I wanted to do something different, something darker, moodier with not much holiday feeling to it. Did it work..well, judge it yourself, here’s what we’ve been up to.
