Narinder and Petros contacted me few months ago and after a short meeting in Edinburgh decided, that I’m going to have the honour and pleasure of being their wedding photographer. I was really looking forward to their wedding as, judging by the information they gave me, I knew it’s going to be a mixture of few cultures – Indian, Greek and Scottish. I love weddings like that, they’re full of surprises, different traditions and are usually really colorful. I also knew that Petros and Narinder are a couple of fantastic people, great and so easy to work with. We organized a short engagement session before the wedding ( you can see it here )and even if the weather wasn’t the best, it was full of fun and their spirits were always very high.
The other reason I was really waiting for their Big Day to come, was the amazing venue they have chosen for their wedding – a beautiful Melville Castle – stunning venue with in a great location. When I got there in the morning it was really misty – you can see on the photos below that it really suited this place, the atmosphere was amazing.
I spent a few hours photographing Petros and Narinder’s preparations and it was a lot of fun, Narinder’s friends had some much energy and were so excited about everything, I had to work hard to keep up with them with my camera :-)
The wedding ceremony was a mixture of Indian and Greek traditions, very touching and emotional. After the drinks reception the wedding party moved to The Quay in Musselburgh for the evening part of the day. To cut the story short ( and you can see it on the photographs ) it was one of the wildest parties I have photographed. As a wedding photographer I love to cover this part of the day, as it’s the moment when everyone can fully enjoy themselves – and if the DJ plays the mixture of Greek Zorba, lively Punjabi music and the newest hits, it’s really hard to find some empty space on the dance floor. Looking back at those photos – as a wedding photographer I could not ask for more.
What an amazing day. I love the mixing of the two cultures and traditions. All the colour and the emotion. Also that looks like one grand party!
That location is stunning! The detail shots are fabulous.
